Product Overview
Open-Mesh GRP Grating Panels offer a cost-effective, zero-maintenance, structural flooring panel system - which benefits from a strong resistance to chemicals, corrosion, and wear.
They are ideal for commercial and industrial environments. Typical applications include walkways, riser voids, gantries, bridges, ramps, and platforms.
GRP Grating offers exceptional strength and durability, yet remains lightweight and easy to maneuver during installations.
Open-Mesh Profiles cater for drainage and ball-proof test requirements, whilst providing excellent ventilation, allowing air to circulate freely. This solves concerns within industrial and commercial environments, where heat or fumes may be present.
Additionally, the open-apertures provide highly effective liquid drainage, averting the build-up of water that could create a risk of slipping. This feature is particularly beneficial in outdoor or industrial environments where moisture or spills are common.
As standard, our flooring products feature an excellent anti-slip surface finish, which surpasses the industry standard slip resistance criteria.
We supply to match your requirements, with fast nationwide delivery as standard. GRP Grating Panels are stocked in a wide range of sizes, thicknesses, and colours.
Benefits of Open Mesh GRP Grating.
GRP (Glass-Reinforced-Plastic) Fibreglass materials benefit from high-resistance to chemicals, corrosion and wear - providing an exceptional alternative to steel grating.
This ensures a durable design which will retain an aesthetic appeal for an extended lifetime. As a result, there is no frequent need for repairs or replacements.
GRP Grating is 50% lighter than Steel Grating alternatives, which ensures a swift installation process.
Fibreglass Grating is fire-rated to ASTM-E-84 compliance standards, with non-sparking, non-conductive characteristics.

Purpose
Open-Mesh Grating Panels are a type of modular structural walkway flooring panel. They can support structural loads and cover open voids.
The open profile is designed to cater for drainage requirements and conforms to ball-proofing regulations.
Standard Open Mesh Grating Panels feature the industry-standard 38mm x 38mm openings.
Alternatives, both smaller and larger - including 50mm x 50mm are also in-stock and are available on request.
Material
Made from a hardwearing and durable GRP (Glass-Reinforced-Plastic) material, the fibreglass material has robust properties. This ensures the panel is very strong, impact resistant, and long-lasting.
GRP Grating is produced using resin as the matrix and continuous interwoven glass fibres as the reinforcement material. The GRP (Glass-Reinforced-Plastic) forms uniformly through a mould system. This creates a high-strength profile with structural characteristics.
GRP Grating is therefore suitable for structural applications within high-footfall, commercial and industrial environments.
Fire Resistance
Fibreglass Walkway Grating is fire-resistant to ASTM-E-84 compliance standards, with non-sparking, non-conductive characteristics.
GRP Open Mesh Flooring is designed as an electric, magnetic, and thermal insulator.
This achieves ASTM E84 standard for flame spread and smoke development.
Installation Process
GRP Grating Installation is a simple process.
We supply pre-cut panels, or alternatively, you can cut to size on-site.
GRP materials are usually 50% lighter than steel alternatives. This ensures the system is easily transportable and manourvable on-site. (See further guidance in the weights table below).
GRP Grating Clips and bolts fix the panels to the substrate and connect adjoining panels together. This allows for easy adaptation to different layouts or configurations, ensuring a seamless installation onto new or existing structures.
Typical Grating Panel Weights
GRP (Glass-Reinforced-Plastic), or FRP (Fibre-Reinforced-Plastic) Panels benefit from an impressive strength to weight ratio.
